These artists represent abstracted landscape and the use colour as the defiant feature. This is a good starting point as I am able to get inspiration and initial ideas. I like their abstracted style as it allows the viewer to try to come to terms with what the piece is actually representing, it would be interesting if I were to develop this idea into my own futur work.
I pitched my idea of using seascape to inspire body ornamentation to the students and tutors and was given a positive reaction. I received feedback from the students to try and showcase the body as much as the ornamentation I will be creating, which I agreed with. I want the body to appear as important as the piece itself. My tutors advised me to research into different type of stitch, fabrics and colour. So I intend to take photographs of the seascape in Wales in the Easter holidays. By doing this I will have a real life colour pallet to work off instead of going off what I think the sky should look like or what tones should be in the sea.
